In her works, artist Claudia Wieser (*1973, DE) explores the principle of geometric abstraction. Taking modernist art as her point of departure, Wieser works in a multimedia process and fuses materials such as gold leaf, hand-painted ceramics and carved wooden objects in her installations. In doing so, the artist explores the fields of tension between space and object, aesthetics and function.
Claudia Wieser sees her strawberry stand as a body to which she can dock the sculptures she creates in her studio from the outside, allowing the strawberry architecture to continue to grow in this way. Tiled columns and U-shaped sculptures made of hand-painted tiles contrast the strawberry stand and transform it into an impression of postmodern architecture in which the most diverse visual languages are brought together.
